Archive Notice
The Language of Landscape: Reading the Anglo-Saxon Countryside project ran from 2004 until 2008 and the website is being retained as an archive of the project and is no longer updated. The resource has been converted to a static format to allow continued access but with reduced functionality, e.g. the lemma search no longer works but may be browsed and some other interactive features may not work as expected.
A free text search has been added to aid discovery. Note that results match words from their beginning, so searches for a partial word (e.g. “for” for “ford”) will find it, but matches in the middle of a word may be missed. You can also browse the headwords by first letter.
