Editing Conventions used in the Display of LangScape Texts

In all Text Displays
Regularly abbreviated Latin words have been expanded silentlyusque
Inserted/interlinear text is placed in insertion marksst`rˊæte
Unclear readings are greyedandlang
v is generally normalised to uxuiii
j is normalised to ixuiii
'yogh' is in most cases normalised to ggemere
In Semi-diplomatic Displays
Text deleted or expuncted in the manuscript is crossed throughoxnan
Gaps in the text are represented by dots, roughly indicating the number of missing or illegible charactersandl[...] broces
In Edited and Glossed Displays
Expanded abbreviations are in italics unless the form the expansion would take is unclearfram : þon’
Supplied/illegible readings are italicised and greyed in square bracketsmer[es]
Gaps in the text are represented by dots when there is no supplied readingon [.....] to
Emendations (of obvious scribal errors) are in italics, with a note giving the manuscript spellingstræte
Where two characters are elided into one, the second is supplied in square brackets ghostedbefer [r]iþ
Hyphens indicate words glossed/translated as one entity, but having separately glossed component partsstan-tunes
